Centennial Year | 2012-2013
On November 30, 2012 the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary celebrated 100 years of existence in southern Alberta. Our vision is "Celebrate the Past. Live the Present. Become the Future." The Diocesan Centennial Committee is excited to with coordinating diocesan celebration and liturgical events for the centennial year 2012 - 2013 and encourage parishes and parishioners to make this event their own in their respective faith communities.
Year of Faith Diocesan Pilgrims
Diocese of Calgary invites invites all the faithful to journey throughout Southern Alberta to the pilgrimage sites assigned by Bishop Henry. The list of the pilgrimage churches is as followed: St. Mary's Cathedral, Our Lady Queen of Peace (Calgary), St. Mary's (Banff), Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Beiseker), St. Mary's (Brooks), St. Mary's (Acadia Valley), and St. Mary's (Standoff). Centennial Mass
- World Refugee Day Mass will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 5pm with a reception to follow at St. Mary's Cathedral.
- All are welcome to gather in our closing Centennial Mass on Friday, November 29, 2013, at St. Mary's Cathedral - 7 PM. Please bring your family, friends and parish community!
Mary Immaculate Statue
The Diocesan Centennial Committee commissioned Bruno Stasiak to craft the Diocesan Statue of Mary Immaculate, which will be visiting all parishes during our Centennial Year, accompanied by a historical display. The historical display features some of the key people and events that have helped form our present community. We hope that the display will enable us all to better understand and appreciate the nature of our diocese in this wonderful Jubilee Year!

Rejoice in God's Mercy
A Centennial diocesan program to renew appreciation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.In addition to the regular parish schedule, the sacrament of Reconciliation will be available at parishes throughout the Diocese of Calgary all the Wednesdays of Lent and Advent. The program provides liturgical and pastoral formation to the faithful in the Diocese of Calgary on the beauty and power of this expression of God's love.
