Philippines Floods Appeal

Donate Towards Appeal for Humanitarian Aid in the Philippines!

As we celebrate this Christmas season, let us be mindful of our brothers and sisters in the Philippines, who are currently experiencing flash floods triggered by Tropical Storm Washi in the southern region. The floods have claimed the lives of close to one thousand people, mostly women and children, and the government of the Philippines has declared the situation a national calamity.

The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace is currently in contact with its partner organizations in the region, including Caritas Philippines, and is preparing an appeal for humanitarian aid. Development and Peace is accepting donations towards this appeal. Donations can be made as follows:

  • directly to Development and Peace by telephone (1-888-234-8533) or online at www.devp.org
  • by sending a cheque payable to your parish, earmarked “D&P - Philippines Floods”
  • by sending a cheque payable to the RC Diocese of Calgary, earmarked “D&P - Philippines Floods” and sent to the Pastoral Centre at 120 17th Ave S.W., Calgary, AB T2S 2T2
