A Time for Healing...
Pope Pius XI defined the role of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal dealing with marriage with these words: “To care for the dignity of marriage; to work for the good of persons.”
The ministry of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal in the area of Marriage is a part of Church’s healing ministry. Many people who journey through the complete process of ecclesiastical tribunal, reflecting on a marriage that did not succeed find emotional healing and a better understanding of themselves and others.
The Inter-diocesan Tribunal of Edmonton is a ministry of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories. It serves the dioceses of Edmonton, Calgary, St Paul, Grouard-McLennan and Mackenzie-Fort Smith. It has two offices: one in Calgary and another in Edmonton. The Tribunal has a staff of specially trained and experienced priests, religious and lay persons who serve as part of the Church’s healing ministry. We offer assistance to people who request the Church to study his or her marriage in order to determine whether or not there are any grounds acceptable in Church Law for a Declaration of Nullity. You can visit their website for more information: edmontontribunal.ca
To initiate a process, please contact your parish priest or Tribunal office in Calgary for a Preliminary form. The form is also available online at: ITE - Preliminary Study Form . If you have any questions about the Declaration of Nullity process, please do not hesitate to contact your parish priest or the Tribunal office.
